Where can I place a bet on a sports event?
Sports betting is legal now in more than two dozen states, and more are likely coming. Some require in-person betting, while others allow online bets if the bet is placed from somewhere inside the state.
The Supreme Court of the United States lifted a federal ban on sports betting on May 14, 2018. Since that ruling, many states have legalized some form of sports betting or are moving towards legalization. Status of legal sports betting (as of February 16, 2021) is as follows:
